The Belize Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) expresses the business community’s grave concern and frustration with the repeat disruptions at the Port of Belize Limited (PBL), the most recent of which has the potential to worsen an already strained economy that has already pushed up consumer prices to levels that this country has not seen since August 2008.
The Port of Belize Limited hereby informs all employees effective pay period month ending February 2022 the allowances listed below will be paid once amonth.
The Board of Directors of Waterloo Investments Holdings Ltd. (“Waterloo”) is very disappointed by the decision of the Department of the Environment (“DOE”) to accept the recommendation of the National Environmental Appraisal Committee (“NEAC”) to deny environmental clearance of Waterloo’s proposed cruise port terminal and expansion of its bulk cargo facility.
The Ministry of Health & Wellness hereby notifies the public that in an effort to help contain the spread of the COVID-19 virus, the curfew hours have been adjusted. Effective today, Monday, October 4, 2021, the curfew hours will revert to 9:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. daily.
Kindly note when a vessel is in Port, staff who are required to work vessel will be scheduled to accommodate the vessel.
Effective September 1st, 2021 all PBL employees (including Stevedores) are required to be vaccinated. Employees are advised to provide a copy of their vaccination cards to their Department Managers by Tuesday August 31, 2021
